Current Events #2

This article is an amazing article relating to the highest drop in history, and of a man that can survive it. In this article a man named  Felix Baumgartner, took a 120,000-foot free fall with a very complex suit, helping him survive this type of impact. This extraordinary event took place above Roswell, New Mexico. This super-strong suit was created in the behalf of NASA, sponsored by Red Bull. Engineers at the David Clark Company took four years creating, and remodeling this high-altitude full-pressure this one suit. This company makes these hi-tech suits for NASA and for the Department of Defense. This was created for personal reference, and the title of the longest jump ever attempted to accelerate through the sound barrier, without a craft.

I actually think this hi-tech suit could really work, because of its features and attributes. First this suit has four different layers for extra-support and mobility. The outer layer is made of Nomex, a fire-retardant material that is also considered an insulator. Under that, there will be a mesh restraint, which holds a gas-filled bladder. The innermost layer is a breathable liner, and when this suit is pressurized it is rigid, and strong. To avoid decompression sickness, hypoxia and tissue damage, the suit has a pressure system that lets the person breathe pure air, and it remains at 3.5 psi (Per Square Inch). Also this will depressurize at 35,000 feet, hence giving more mobility. Third there is a chest part that gives power to the suit through twin sets of lithium batteries, that powers a chest containing a wide 120-degree angle, accelerometer, inertial-measurement unit, and a de-icing system for the visors, for the frigid temperatures up in the stratosphere. Next there is a G-meter, that at precise times, when there are objects in the stratosphere that might hit the suit and damage it, this device will accurately launch a special parachute to deflect these spins. Next there is a face shield, that is self-explanatory, a shield that covers your face. Lastly there is a specific parachute system. There are four different parachutes, some used for emergencies, some used at a certain height or altitude in mid-air.
