In this lab, we learned the main reason of why we should chew our food, when we eat. When you eat your food, it goes down you're esophagus, and goes into your stomach, and is welcomed by hydro-chloric acid, a very strong acid. Even though you chewed up your food it can take up to days to be digested. Think about, if you didn't chew it. We had a series of four test tubes, which had they're own ingredients, and were tested, to see if any were acidic. Most of them didn't have an immediate reaction. This is what we did the first day. Also the exception of wearing our protective gear, then using strands of blue litmus paper, and dipping them into the tubes, to see any results, and one of tubes, showed tremendous results, turning the dipped paper into a pinkish color. On the second day we proved that test tube D was acidic, because we used a tool that detects the acidity. I found out that lower the pH, higher the acidity.
